Getting Started

How much does Maloka cost?

Maloka is currently available for free to all users!

Our founders built Maloka to help everybody develop a meditation practice. For this reason, the base version of Maloka, which is sufficient to build a basic meditation practice, will always be available for free to everyone.

Over time, we will be releasing premium content that users can buy to enhance their experience and to expand and grow their island.

Do I need an Oculus Quest to play Maloka?

While you need an Oculus Quest device to experience the virtual reality world of Maloka - you can still download, meditate, and build your practice using only the Maloka mobile app.

How do I create a Maloka account?
  • Download the Maloka mobile app on your phone from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store
  • Tap "Start Journey" to pair with your Spirit
  • Follow the prompts to create your Maloka account and to verify your email address
  • Download the Maloka VR app from Oculus' App Lab
  • Get the unique code generated in your VR app and input it into your mobile app by selecting "Connect to VR"

Gameplay

How do I earn rewards and unlock new portals?

Every completed meditation earns you a reward - key word completed! You know you have finished a full meditation when the floating orb appears, you visit the win screen, and are taken back to your island. From there you will receive a mystery orb with a reward inside...some of those rewards are portals :)

How does my spirit guide evolve?

Your spirit evolves with consistency. Daily meditation will help push your spirit to it’s next evolution! Every day you spend away from Maloka, a bit of spirit energy is lost, so keep your practice steady.

What do I do when I’ve unlocked all the rewards?

Plant life is never ending on Maloka, meditations are made to be experienced multiple times - even if you have filled up your island, keep meditating, re-organizing, and evolving your spirit. Remember to use your inventory to store extra items, and be on the lookout for new portals, rewards, and interactions in later releases.

Known Issues / Bugs

I did not receive my confirmation email, what should I do?

Reach out to support@mymaloka.com and let us know what email address you used to sign up.

I am getting a “VR Link Error” i.e. my mobile app will not pair with my headset, what should I do?

Make sure both your headset and mobile device are connected to the same wifi, if you still cannot link them together - reach out to support@mymaloka.com and let us know what email address you used to sign up.
